Connecting Stripe
What connecting unlocks, whose account the money lands in, and why you're the merchant.
Card payments are charged on a Stripe account in your salon's name, and paid out to your bank. Inchair never holds your money.
That's not a technicality — it's why you're the merchant of record for every ticket, and why a dispute is between you and your client rather than between us and yours.
Setting it up
Settings → Stripe & payouts (opens in a new tab), then follow the onboarding. Stripe asks what it needs to pay a business: who you are, your bank details, and identity verification. Those forms are Stripe's, not ours, and the answers go to them.
Stripe may keep verifying after you've finished the form. The settings page re-checks your status whenever you open it, so if it says verifying, the fix is usually to come back rather than to start again.
What it turns on
- Deposits at booking, and cards held on file against a no-show
- Charging a card at checkout, including one already saved
- Sending a client a link or QR to pay from their own phone
- Tipping at checkout
- Apple Pay and Google Pay on your booking page
- Payouts to your bank on a schedule you can change from Stripe
Fees
Stripe's processing fee is deducted by Stripe from your balance, the way it would be if you'd signed up with them directly. Inchair takes no cut of your bookings today.
Apple Pay and Google Pay
These switch themselves on once your account can actually take a charge — there's nothing to configure. They can't be registered before that, which is why they appear a little after the rest.
