Approve before you commit
Bookings can arrive as requests you accept or decline, with the deposit already taken.
A deposit holds the date
Set the amount per service — a trial and a wedding morning aren't the same risk.
The balance, by link
Send a payment link and let them settle from their own phone, whenever suits.
Work you say yes to, not work that just appears
Most of this work isn't first-come-first-served. Put your booking into review mode and every request arrives for you to accept or decline — and unlike asking people to enquire, the deposit has already been taken by the time you decide.
Trials, on-the-day looks and lessons can each be their own service with their own price, duration and deposit, so the page quotes properly without a conversation.
- Accept or decline each booking yourself
- Deposit collected at request time either way
- Separate services for trials, events and lessons

Money that arrives in stages
A deposit at booking, then the balance nearer the day. Send a payment link and they pay on their own phone — no cash, no chasing, no invoicing app.
At checkout the ticket is still yours to adjust: add the extra face that got added the night before, discount the package, and take a tip on the same charge.
- Pay by link for balances and extras
- Deposits count against the final bill
- Everything paid into your own bank account, not held by us

The eleven months in between
One thread per client
Every message, both directions, in one place — including their replies, which come back here rather than into your inbox.
Reminders that land in time
Up to three per booking, on lead times you choose. For a booking made last spring that matters more than usual.
Terms they agreed to
Your cancellation policy, shown at booking or required with a tick, with the date they agreed stored against the version they read.
Questions
- Can I take a deposit and the balance separately?
- Yes. The deposit is taken at booking and counts against the bill. The balance can be charged at checkout, from a card on file, or sent as a payment link they settle themselves.
- Can I approve bookings rather than have them auto-confirm?
- Yes. In review mode every booking arrives as a request for you to accept or decline, and the deposit is collected at the time of the request rather than after you accept.
- Does Inchair handle travel to a venue?
- Not as a feature — there's no travel fee or location field on a booking. In practice artists price it into the service or add it as a custom charge at checkout.
- Can I take payment from someone who isn't the client?
- Yes. A payment link can be sent to whoever is paying, and cash or a transfer from a third party can be recorded against the sale.
